Case Against Wife Of Hanged Jmb Chief

Additional District and Sessions Judge's Court in Sylhet yesterday took deposition of two prosecution witnesses in separate cases filed against outlawed JMB chief Shaikh Abdur Rahman (hanged in another case), his aides and family members yesterday. With deposition of Mainul Haque, caretaker of the house Surjodighol bari, and Zainal Abedin, an inhabitant of the area, deposition of eight PWs out of 36 have been recorded in both the cases. The judge fixed February 12 for recording the deposition of the rest of the PWs. All the other accused including Shaikh Rahman's wife Nurjahan Begum alias Rupa, daughter Afifa Rahman, housemaid Chameli Begum, Shaikh's aides Abdul Aziz alias Hanif, Moyezul Islam Chowdhury alias Hridoy were produced before the court.
