4 killed in N'ganj road crash
Four people, including a father and his son, were killed and seven others injured when a bus collided head-on with a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in Siddhirganj of Narayanganj yesterday morning.
The deceased--Badal Mia, 45, his son Hira Mia, 18, Sulota Biswas, 42, and Sujon, 22,--were passengers of the auto-rickshaw.
Witnesses said a passenger bus of Komol Paribahan rammed the oncoming three-wheeler head-on around 8:00am at Sailo in the upazila, leaving Badal dead on the spot and 10 others seriously injured.
Hira and Sujon died after they were taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital while Sulota succumbed to her injuries at Khanpur 200-bed Hospital.
The injured passengers of both bus and auto-rickshaw were admitted to different local hospitals, said Quamrul Alam Mollah, officer-in-charge of Siddhirganj Police Station.
Police seized the bus but its driver and helper fled, he added.
