AUW int'l conference on Friday

International Conference on the 'Changing Nature of Forced Migration' will be held tomorrow at the Asian University for Women (AUW) in the port city, said the university officials at a press briefing on the campus on Tuesday. The two-day long conference will bring together the insights of local, regional and international researchers, professionals, policy makers and activists on topics concerning refugees, internally displaced people, migrant workers and trafficked people in relation to South and Southeast Asia, they said. Papers will be presented at the seminar under five themes including gendered dimensions of forced migration and migrant work, they added. Partners to the conference include scholars and representatives from UNHCR, Asian Development Bank, BRAC and universities in South Asia, Southeast Asia, the United States, Australia, Canada, France, Belgium and Egypt.
