235 Puja mandaps in Ctg city
The Hindus in Chittagong city will celebrate their largest religious festival “Durga Puja” at 235 Puja mandaps (pavilion) being set up in different areas under 12 police stations.
Bangladesh Puja Udjapan Parishad, Chittagong city unit urged the administration to provide necessary security to all Puja mandaps on the occasion. The parishad made the urge at a news conference at Chittagong Press Club yesterday.
Dr Timir Baran Chowdhury, the unit president of the parishad; Advocate Chandan Talukder; Prof Arpan Bannerjee; and Sadhan Dhar attended the conference among others.
