'Debate helps build just society'
Speakers at a debate competition yesterday here said rationale is very important to build up a just society.
They said students can win world through logic and for this students have to acquire knowledge.
They were speaking at the opening ceremony of a three-day long debate competition organised by Chittagong University Debating Society at Social Sciences faculty auditorium in the university.
The speakers said students should apply their acquired knowledge methodologically.
Vice-Chancellor Prof Md Anwarul Azim Arif was present as the chief guest with Prof Dr Mabubul Haque of Bangla department in the chair.
Prof Sikander Khan, vice-chancellor of East Delta University, inaugurated the competition.
A total of 51 teams are participating in the three-day debate competition.
