IIUC pro-VC sent to jail
International Islamic University, Chittagong (IIUC) Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Abu Bakar Rafeeq was sent to jail yesterday.
Police produced him along with four other Jamaat activists before Chittagong Metropolitan Magistrate court with a seven-day remand prayer. The court will hear the remand prayer today.
Other arrested Jamaat activists are Iqbal Sarif, Jamir uddin and Chhatra Shibir activist Osman Gani.
They were arrested in connection with on September 19 incident at Muradpur intersection where Jamaat activists clashed with police at the time of a procession brought out by the party.
