Police arrested a minor boy and recovered 133 tolas of gold and Tk 6.60 lakh from his village home in Satkania upazila on Saturday. The boy Md Rezaul Karim, 16, son of Bodiul Alam of Azimpur union of Satkania, admitted to stealing the valuables from Khaja Jewelers of Bakshirhat, where he was working for the last three months, on Friday, said police. He claimed to work alone, stealing the keys to the shop's safe and gate and taking the valuables, said Ameena Begum, deputy commissioner (DC), North, at a press conference at DC's Panchlaish office yesterday. But this is hard to believe that a minor boy could do this and so a remand prayer would be sought from the court to find the others involved, she added. The shop owner Mahabub Alam filed a case with Kotwali Police Station on Friday.
