Prof Nurul Alam passes away

Prof Dr Nurul Alam Khan, former head of the Department of Ophthalmology at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), breathed his last at his Dhaka residence on October 1 at the age of 86, says a press release. Prof Nurul Alam, a renowned ophthalmologist, was laid to rest at the Banani graveyard after namaz-e-janaza after Zohr prayers on October 2. He left behind his wife, two sons, two daughters and a host of relatives and well wishers to mourn his death. Prof Nurul Alam, a student of the first batch of DMCH, started his career there. After obtaining higher degree on ophthalmology from the UK, he substantially contributed to the country in his field. Mentionable, he led several medical teams during the War of Liberation in 1971. Relatives, friends, students, and well-wishers are requested to pray for salvation of the departed soul.
