Palestinian independence

Now it is time for the Palestinians to throw off the decades of 'allowed occupation'. The standing ovation to Palestinian President Mahmud Abbas at the UN General Assembly and euphoria at Ramalla with people listening to the speeches, chanting slogans, waving Palestinian flags, raised the hope for freedom to a new height. None can now negate the aspirations of the valiant people of Palestine. Still we are apprehensive about the outcome of the Palestinian independence bid given the fact that their aspiration for freedom has always been rejected or delayed in the past while many other people's independence bid had come into easy and quick fruition. Recently, Christian majority South Sudan got independence. But why do I blame others? Was not Muslims locked in unmitigated self-defeating infighting? All those suicide bombing by the half-educated mullahs gave weapons in the hands of their enemies. Ignorance, corruption, obliviousness, shortsightedness and immorality of the Muslims dissipated their energy. Now the Muslims are waking up from the long slumber and throwing aside autocracy and injustice.
