Jamaat leader sued for threat to 'kill' PM
Bangladesh Jamaat-e Islami Rajshahi district unit publicity secretary Mohammad Obaidullah was sued on Thursday for issuing a threat at a meeting to kill Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in an incident like August 15.
Obaidullah in his speech at the meeting in Godagari, arranged as part of the BNP's Wednesday's road march, said another August 15 is coming to kill the prime minister unless the arrested Jamaat leaders were not freed, said police said quoting the complaint.
Abdul Malek, general secretary of Godagari Municipal unit of Awami League, filed the case with Godagari Police Station against Obaidullah and eight others unknown persons, said Zakirul Islam, OC of the police station.
