Court asks cops to submit report by Oct 31
A Dhaka court yesterday asked the police again to submit a report by October 31 on execution of arrest warrants against fugitive Jamaat acting Ameer Maqbul Ahmad and 10 others in a case filed over the party's recent violence in the city.
Metropolitan Magistrate Erfan Ullah of the Speedy Trial Court-7 passed the order as the police failed to submit reports on the arrest warrants by yesterday.
The court issued arrest warrants against them on October 2.
The ten other accused are: Jamaat's acting Secretary General Shafiqur Rahman, Dhaka city chief Rafiqul Islam Khan, and central committee member Prof Mujibur Rahman, and Islami Chhatra Shibir's former president Fakaruddin Manik, its general secretary Delwar Hossain Saeed and activists Abdul Momen, Rabiul Islam alias Masud, Sardar Nurul Haque, Abul Hashem Munshi and Abdul Baqui Howlader.
