Khulna BNP leader shot dead
Unidentified criminals shot dead a local BNP leader at Maheswarpasha of Daulatpur in Khulna last night.
The dead, Modasser Ali, 50, was joint secretary of Daulatpur BNP and also president of CSD Godown Handling Workers' Union.
Police suspect he was killed over rivalry in the workers' union.
Witnesses said a gang of five armed men opened fire on Ali near his house at Ranarmath of Maheswarpasha around 7:15pm. Locals rushed him to Khulna Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead.
