'Unskilled' driving kills one, inures 27
An “unskilled” driving killed a man and injured 27 other people on Chittagong-Rangamati road at Munsi Abdur Rouf Square in Sadar upazila yesterday morning.
“The accident occurred as a substitute unskilled driver instead of original one was driving the bus,” said Kotwali Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Masud.
The SI said they seized the bus but the driver managed to escape.
The accident took place when a Rangamati bound bus from Chittagong overturned in the area as the bus driver lost control over the steering.
The deceased is Hara Dhan, 55. The injured were admitted to Rangamati Sadar Hospital.
A case was filed with Kotwali Police Station in this connection.
