One stabbed to death
A man allegedly killed his friend as the latter failed to pay back Tk 60,000 borrowed from the former at Jatrabari in the city yesterday.
The victim was identified as Hanif Miah, 38.
Sources said Mizanur Rahman Mizan, an electrician, stabbed Hanif, a rickshaw-puller, with his knife during a quarrel over the money at Hanif's Dayaganj house at around 12:30pm. Injured Hanif was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead.
The neighbours caught Mizan, gave him a beating and handed him over to police.
