The killing roads

Syed Badrul Ahsan's analysis of Shaheed Minar Tamasha (DS 26 Oct) was diplomatic and perhaps beyond the intelligence level of the participants, who can only differentiate between a Cow and Goat! Who are then the killers? Are they not: : 1. Drivers with fake licenses and those who issue them. 2. Drivers of unfit, unlicensed and decrepit vehicles and those who allow them on the roads? 3. Those who drive under the influence of intoxicants? 4. Those who build sub-standard roads, bridges, culverts etc and fail to maintain them? 5. Those who are responsible for roads with potholes, lack of light and traffic signs.? 6. Those who purchase vehicles with questionable funds ?? . 7. Those who supposed to maintain the traffic but can be'easily managed' by habitual offenders? 8. Those who have no medical clearance and are unable to understand traffic signs ?? 9. Those who lack comprehensive insurance coverage?? 10. Those who allow such people to drive because of political connections and clout? Now, who has the guts to do something about it?
