Two killed in road accidents
Two people were killed and two others injured in separate road accidents in Rajshahi and Sirajganj on Monday night and yesterday.
RU correspondent reports: An auto-rickshaw passenger was killed on the spot and two others were injured when a Bogra-bound truck collided head-on with a Rajshahi city-bound auto-rickshaw on the Dhaka-Rajshahi highway at Kazla near Rajshahi University (RU) on Monday night.
The deceased was Rabbel, 25, son of Nazrul Islam, of Mirzapur in the city. The injured were admitted to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital.
Police arrested truck driver Masud Rana and helper Abdullah with the truck.
People of Kazla area alleged that the accident took place because of the unmarked speed breaker.
A correspondent from Sirajganj says: A woman was killed on the spot when a motorcycle hit her while she was crossing the road at Bhangabari village in Sirajganj municipality area yesterday.
The deceased was Tara Banu, 60, wife of Sonaullah, of Shailabari Purbapara village of Sadar upazila.
