Returning home upon a month-long visit a day ago (October 31), Foreign Minister Dipu Moni yesterday left Dhaka on a two-nation trip for 12 days. Officials said the foreign minister yesterday left for Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj. She will stay there for a week. On November 8, she will go to the Maldives to attend the 17th Saarc Summit slated for November 10-11. She will attend the Council of Ministers meeting on November 9 there. The Council of Ministers is comprised of the foreign ministers of the eight member states of the Saarc -- Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, the Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. The foreign ministers at their meeting will finalise the agenda for discussion by the summit leaders during the two-day meeting of the heads of the government and state. The theme of this summit is “Building Bridges”, which is both in terms of physical connectivity and figurative political dialogue.
