Bullet-hit Khulna AL leader dies
Gazi Abdul Halim, publicity secretary of Khulna district Awami League, yesterday succumbed to the bullet injuries inflicted by unknown men on October 30.
Gazi, also chairman of Senhati union parishad, was shot in the head, waist, and back in Goalpara area around 3:30pm as he was returning home from a meeting of Digholia Upazila Parishad.
He was immediately taken to Khulna Medical College Hospital where doctors referred him to Jessore Combined Military Hospital with life support as his condition was deteriorating even after performing a surgery.
He was helicoptered to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical College Hospital on October 31 where he died.
