Journo, 4 others charge-sheeted in Chuadanga
Chuadanga police yesterday submitted charge sheet against four people including a journalist for their alleged involvement in printing posters of an outlawed party.
They are Rafiq Rahman, Chuadanga Correspondent of The Bhorer Kagoj, Akram Hossain, a cadre of the outlawed Purbo Banglar Communist Party (PBCP-ML), Chuadanga Pourosabha BNP president Ohidul Islam, also former chairman of Chuadanga municipality and Sahajahn Ali, an employee of Chuadanga Cooperative Society.
The court fixed January 30 as date of hearing of the case.
Investigation Officer (IO) of the case, sub-inspector (SI) Abdur Rahim of Chuadanga Sadar police station submitted the charge sheet.
At first, police arrested cooperative society employee Sahajahan from Chuadanga town with huge posters on January 18. Later, police arrested outlawed party cadre Akram. On Akram's confession, journalist Rafiq was arrested.
The posters were printed at Aiziz Printing Press owned by Rafiq, police said. BNP leader Ohidul has been absconding.
