One chased by BSF drowns

A Bangladeshi cattle trader drowned in the Ichhamati near Shibnagar in Debhata upazila after being chased by the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) Saturday night, BDR said. Nayan, 26, of Dakhhin Kulia village in Debhata upazila drowned when BSF men at Taki camp in Hasnabad police station in South 24 Parganas district in West Bengal, India chased him towards Indian territory. At that time, the victim and others were returning home with cattle from India. BDR and local people recovered the body floating in the river near Shibpur, BDR said. On contact, Major Kamrul Hasan, Operations Officer of 41, Rifles Battalion confirmed the incident.
