Bus kills woman, hurts daughter
A woman died and two others, including her daughter, sustained injuries as a speeding bus hit the motorbike the three were riding at Asad Gate in the city yesterday.
The deceased is Masuma Begum Chandni, 32, wife of Khokon Miah of Polashi, Lalbagh while the injured are her daughter Neha, 9, and her friend's husband Mofazzol Hossain, 35.
Police said a Mirpur bound bus hit the motorcycle from behind and ran over Chandni, leaving her dead on the spot. Neha and Mofazzol took primary treatment at a local clinic.
Police could not identify the bus.
The body was sent to Dhaka Medical College morgue for autopsy. An unnatural death case was filed with Mohammadpur Police Station in this connection.
