Chhatra Moitree men verbally assault govt college principal
Activists of Bangladesh Chhatra Moitree men of the college unit verbally abused the principal and vice-principal of Rajshahi New Government Degree College and vandalised the office of the latter yesterday.
Led by the college unit Moitree President Kawsar Ali, a group of three to four activists entered the vice-principal's office around 1:00pm and locked the office room from inside, said witnesses and police.
They verbally abused the vice-principal and damaged furniture, documents, and the door.
The vice-principal Golam Hossain Pramanik said Kawsar attempted to beat him, which his colleagues resisted.
Then Kawsar vandalised the furniture in the office, he said.
An hour later, Kawsar went to the office of the principal Abdul Wahed Sarker and threatened him of dire consequences if he takes any step against any Moitree men.
Pramanik said, "There was no reason behind the attack but a show of their might."
When contacted, Kawsar denied his involvement in the incident.
The principal filed a general diary with Rajpara Police Station in this connection.
