Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) arrested the main accused in the killing of ward level BNP leader Abdul Baki alias Milton from Jirabo in Ashulia on the city's outskirts yesterday. The arrestee is Abul Kashem, 35, a resident of West Kafrul. A Rab official said their team arrested Kashem from a house at Jirabo around 4:00am. Kashem was the mastermind behind the killing of the BNP leader, the official added. In primary interrogation, Kashem disclosed that Mantu, Mamun, Roni and some others were associated with him in the killing. Milton, 40, vice-president of Ward-40 unit of BNP, was found shot dead near his office at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar on Tuesday. He owned a cable business and was a contractor of Public Works Department. Later on Thursday, police arrested Baki's two friends Saiful Huq Mamun, 38, of Shewrapara, and Giausuddin Mantu alias Kissinger Mantu, 40, of Lalmatia, in connection with the killing. Detective police suspect that feud over a disputed piece of land was one of the reasons behind the killing.
