Dead woman identified after six days
Six days after the recovery of a beheaded body of an unidentified woman, the deceased was identified as Rina Begum, of the city's Sabujbagh.
Her husband Jhinuk Mia, a staff of a national daily, and relatives identified Rina, 35, at Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue after police recovered the beheaded body from a drain beside Kamalapur Railway Station in the city on November 7.
Rina's family members said Rina went missing from her native village Miargaon in Shibpur upazila of Narsingdi on Nov 6.
Rina came out of the house to buy something ahead of Eid but did not return home, said her brother Sharif Mollah.
Later, the family members filed a general diary with Shibpur Police Station and published advertisements with Rina's photograph in several national dailies.
Sabujbagh police said they were trying to find out the reason behind the killing and identify the killers.
