Contracting out Shahjalal International Airport's management
I was amused with the news that our main international airport was almost leased to a company for security reasons which was stopped by timely intervention of our aviation minister GM Kader.
I thank him because he is one of the very few of the cabinet ministers, who has the reputation of being an honest and decent person. But the question is: which kind of securities are they talking about? Like the one in USA, UK and other western cities where travellers are being subjected to harassment in the name of security? For God's sake don't even think about it.
When the minister says he was under pressure, definitely it must be someone who is more powerful and who has some business interest with this Canadian company. People want to know how this idea of giving our airport on lease came up just out of the blue and who are the people involved in it.
