Impending political turmoil

Bangladesh is now heading fast towards a grave political turmoil. The ruling Awami League (AL)-led Mohajote government has abruptly, unexpectedly and unnecessarily created a political storm by amending the constitution annulling the caretaker government (CTG) system. There was a consensus among all political parties including AL on CTG and four general elections held under CTG were widely accepted as fair and impartial. But the ruling AL is now branding CTG as undemocratic! This plea of the government seems to be illogical and motivated. Since CTG system enjoyed a general consensus of all political parties, how can it be termed undemocratic? The ruling AL's sudden advocacy for holding the next general election under party government is being seen by the general people as a motivated political manoeuvre to stay in power by hook or by crook! The opposition parties led by BNP are gradually gaining ground on CTG issue and a dangerous confrontation seems to be lurking round the corner! Is there any way to avert the repetition of the inglorious one-eleven situations?
