Norwegian envoy opens water treatment plants for Sidr victims
Ambassador of Norway in Bangladesh Storing Ingorj yesterday inaugurated two water treatment plants at Sidr-hit Sharankhola and Morrelganj upazilas in Bagerhat district.
He said the two plants would be financed by Norway.
The Norwegian ambassador accompanied by representative of World Health Organization in Bangladesh visited Sidr-hit areas of South Khali and Tafalbari in Sharankhola upazila at noon and talked to the affected people now staying in makeshift shelters.
The Sidr-hit people of Sharankhola and Morrelganj upazilas are badly in need of pure drinking water.
The two water treatment plants will meet the need of drinking water of the affected people, said Sharankhola Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Shanewaz Talukder and Morrelganj UNO Krishna Kanta Das.
