Bangladesh still an unknown land?
The other day I was hanging around inside Walmart Stores as I had to wait for about two hours in order to replace the worn out tires of my car. I came across an elderly gentleman, may be aged 70. This American was criticising everything and everybody with all kinds of abusive languages, expressing his frustration.
After citing his long list of complaints, he asked me where I was from, India or Pakistan? I politely replied that I was from Bangladesh. He then asked me where on earth Bangladesh was.
Well, this was not the first time that I was facing such embarrassment. Time and again, I had to explain to them where Bangladesh was. Many a people throughout the world do not even know the existence of a country named Bangladesh.
The USA, being the most powerful nation on earth, is sitting on a debt of 15 + trillion dollars. This is a government statistics and the debt is continuously rising. Now, if this is the situation of the most powerful nation on earth, then what could be the fate of Bangladesh comprising 150 million people, whose per capita income is less than 1000 dollars.
