20 abducted fishermen rescued
Coast Guard personnel rescued 20 abducted fishermen from Charfashion in Bhola on Sunday, said officials.
The rescued are Zafar, Kholil, Jamal, Shahin, Altaf, Shahjahan, Aowal, Sohel, Abul Kashem, Alomgir, Mohammad Hossain, Kalam, Amin, Dadon Ali, Nasir, Harun, Saidur, Taslim, Abdul Rashid and Shamima.
On information, a team of the force conducted a drive at Vashanchar in the area and rescued them. The pirates fled leaving the victims, the officials added.
The pirates abducted the fishermen on November 24 from the deep sea and demanded Tk 5.5 lakh as ransom.
