Punishment to killers demanded
Rights activists demanded exemplary punishment to the killers of freedom fighter Zinnat Ali at a human chain programme in front of Jatiya Press Club in the city yesterday.
They also urged people to launch a movement against all sorts of harassment to women, says a press release.
Steps Towards Development and activists of 120 other social organisations staged the demonstration where speakers demanded that the government enact a new law to contain sexual harassment.
On Friday, when Zinnat, also a high school teacher, was returning home from a market in Barisal, Rupam, stalker of his daughter, and his associate Mithu stabbed him in front of his house on MA Wahab Sarak.
He died on the way to the capital.
