Three alleged robbers arrested
Police arrested three alleged robbers with four homemade explosives, three machetes and a tool used in cutting iron bars from Ispahani Railway Crossing area under Khulshi Police Station in Chittagong city early yesterday.
The arrested are Delwar Hossain Jonny, 35, resident of Kamrangir Char in Dhaka; Shahjahan, 28, of Kosba in Brahmanbaria; and and Saiful Islam, 21, from Laxmipur.
Sources said the trio were preparing to commit robbery in nearby Bishwa Colony around 12:30am when they were arrested.
Officer-in-Charge of the police station, Obaidul Hoque, said Delwar, the leader, was recently released after spending four years in jail and two cases were found against him in different police stations of the city so far.
Three cases were filed in this connection, Obaidul added.
