1 factory, 9 houses gutted in Ctg
A packaging factory and nine houses were gutted in two separate fires in the port city early yesterday.
Both fires originated from electric short circuit, said Mannan Kutubi, an official of Agrabad Fire Control Room.
Mannan said a fire gutted the factory named TNS Consumer Products around 1:00am and damaged goods worth Tk 9 lakh.
Four fire fighting units of Agrabad and Bayezid fire stations rushed to the spot and doused the fire in two hours, he added.
Nine semi pucca houses were gutted in fire in another incident at Sanwara Residential Area around 5.30am damaging valuables worth Tk 6 lakh, Mannan said adding that four fire fighting units managed to douse the blaze at 7.00am.
