Tipai issue to create mistrust: Menon

Staff correspondent
The international river law and Bangladesh's trust in India will be destroyed if India unilaterally builds Tipaimukh dam, lawmaker Rashed Khan Menon has said. India must consider the interest of Bangladesh and it must refrain from doing destructive activities otherwise the people of Bangladesh has the right to fight for preserving their rights, he has added. He said this at a human chain programme in front of Jatiya Press Club in the city organised by Bangladesher Workers Party, Dhaka city unit, yesterday demanding to stop building Tipaimukh dam. Menon also said India had harmed Bangladesh hugely building Farakka barrage unilaterally; that's why the southern part of the country had been turning into desert.
