Arrest hike in house rent

There is no guideline for the house rent in the country. But this is an old issue. Many tenants want a redress and a guideline for all to follow. Lately, house owners are asking for a steep hike in rent by as much as a 25 to 30%. This surpasses all raises before! This is happening all around Dhaka and the current tenants are being asked to leave the houses because the house owners are expecting higher rents from the new tenants. Decentralisation may ease the pressure to some extent. But the most important remedy is to check the population growth. A sincere measure had never been taken to control our population and turn them into productive assets. Our request to the government is to arrest this rent hike immediately. Soaring inflation, absence of law regarding rents and prices, disrespect for government guidelines (if any) and greed are some issues to be checked.
