Two murdered in city
Two persons,one of them a woman, were killed at the city's Jatrabari and Keraniganj yesterday.
The deceased are Atiqur Rahman, 50, and Lucky Begum, 26.
Jatrabari police said they recovered the body of Atiqur from his Bibir Bagicha residence by breaking open the door.
Seeing injury marks on Atiqur's throat police have suspected that he might have been strangled.
Neighbours said Atiqur, a rickshaw puller, his son-in-law Palash, also a rickshaw puller, and another man came to his rented house around 10:30pm on Monday.
The neighbours saw Atiqur lying on the floor inside the room through the window while the room was locked from outside, and informed the police in the morning.
Palash was not on good terms with his father-in-law centring around a feud with his wife Amena, said the police.
Police recovered the body of Lucky yesterday morning from a field at Banglanagar in Keraniganj where she lived with her husband Moktar Hossain, a vegetable vendor.
There were dark marks on the woman's throat.
After the incident, Moktar, who had been demanding more dowry, remained missing, said Lucky's brother Shafiqul Islam.
