Court again asks Lalbagh OC to submit report on Amini
A Dhaka court on Monday again asked officer-in-charge (OC) of Lalbagh Police Station to submit report on execution of arrest warrant against Mufti Fazlul Haq Amini, chairman of a faction of Islami Oikya Jote (IOJ), in connection with a sedition case.
But it did not mention the time limit for submission of report.
Metropolitan Magistrate Roksana Begum Happy passed the order as Lalbagh police failed to submit any report within the stipulated time on the arrest warrant issued earlier on October 13.
When contacted Azizul Haq, OC (administration), refused to make any comment over their failure to submit report about Amini.
Selim-uz-Zaman, OC (investigation), and also the investigation officer of the case, submitted the charge sheet to a Dhaka court on October 13 against Amini showing him fugitive and appealed to it for issuance of arrest warrant in the case.
Azizul filed the case on August 11 with the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate's Court against Amini for making derogatory remarks about the country's constitution.
