Obituary
Gias Uddin Majumder, special and diplomatic correspondent of the New Nation, passed away at Square Hospital in the city early yesterday at the age of 65.
Earlier, the senior journalist, also a freedom fighter, was admitted to the hospital with brain related problem.
He left behind his wife, three daughters, one son and a host of relatives and well-wishers to mourn his death.
His namaz-e-janaza was held on the Jatiya Press Club premises.
He was laid to rest at his family graveyard at Pathangar village in Chhagolnaiya upazila of Feni.
Jatiya Press Club President Kamal Uddin Sabuj and General Secretary Syed Abdal Ahmed in a condolence message expressed their deep shock at the death of Majumder and conveyed sympathy to members of the bereaved family.
