Increase number of policewomen: Sahara
Home Minister Sahara Khatun yesterday called for increasing the number of women in police department for more involvement of women in policing, women's empowerment as well as bringing female criminals to book.
While speaking as the chief guest at the 3rd founding anniversary of Bangladesh Police Women's Network (BPWN), she said, “Only 3.34 per cent of police personnel are women which is fewer than that of many other countries in the world. So it is obvious that we need to include more women in the department.”
BPWN President Rowshan Ara Begum chaired the function at the city's Rajarbagh Police Telecom auditorium.
