Road crash kills girl
A minor girl was killed and 20 others were injured in separate road accidents in Narail and Lalmonirhat yesterday, said correspondents.
The girl was killed as a speeding Nosimon (locally made vehicle) hit her in Lohagara upazila of Narail yesterday.
The deceased Juthi Khanom, 6, daughter of Emarul Islam of Noapara village in the upazila, was crushed under the Nosimon while she was crossing a road at Par Morlickpur village around 11:00am.
At least 20 people, including the driver of a passenger bus, were critically injured as the bus fell into a roadside ditch at Lalmonirhat- Rangpur road in Mondolerhat area of Lalmonirhat Sadar upazila yesterday morning.
Of the injured, the condition of bus driver Atiar Rahman, 42, Jobeda Begum, 45, Manik Lal, 36, Lucky Begum, 30, and Sobed Ali, 48, were critical, the hospital sources said.
