Trader fined for cutting hill
Department of Environment (DoE) yesterday fined a businessman Tk 2.18 lakh for cutting a hill in Lilapara of Saheb Bazar area, a suburb of Sylhet city.
The businessman, Shafique Shahjahan, also the hill's owner, was constructing a private road on the area.
Shafique was summoned to the office of Director of Enforcement, DOE, Dhaka along with his business partner, Sylhet Chamber of Commerce & Industry President Faruque Ahmed Misbah.
