Chhatra Moitree men stab BCL activist
A Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) activist was stabbed allegedly by Bangladesh Chhatra Moitree (BCM) activists at the registrar's office of Rajshahi Polytechnic Institute yesterday.
The injured Al Amin, 18, a third year student of the institute's mechatronics department and an executive body member of BCL city unit, was admitted to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital.
BCM men chased Al Amin into the office, broke down the door to enter and stabbed him several times on the back, claimed the victim.
Later, agitating BCL activists demolished a plaque built by BCM in memory of Rezwanul Islam Chowdhury Sunny, BCM's institute unit vice president, murdered on the campus during an attack by BCL activists on January 7, 2010, said sources.
Both BCL Rajshahi city unit President Shafikuzzaman and BCM city unit President Motiur Rahman said the incident was a sequel to the beating of a BCM activist by Al Amin on Wednesday.
