Upazila vice chair stabbed by brother
The female vice-chairman of Moulvibazar sadar upazila was stabbed by her drug addicted younger brother as she tried to persuade him not to take drugs on Thursday night.
Rashida Khan, 33, the woman leader, took treatment in Moulvibazar sadar hospital and then in a private clinic in Sylhet. She was released from the clinic yesterday afternoon.
The family sources said Rashida went to his brother Ruhel Hasan's, 26, house in the Moulvibazar district town that night to refrain him from having drugs.
Rahsida's attempt, however, led to a quarrel between the two siblings when Ruhel stabbed her with a dagger twice--one in the chest and the other in the back.
