Transport strike called off in Chapai

Our Correspondent, Chapainawabganj
Bus and truck owners and employees of Chapainawabganj called off their indefinite strike beginning on November 28 after the district administration assured of meeting their demands yesterday. The decision came after a meeting between the district administration and the transport owners at the circuit house in the town. The demands include banning locally-made engine-run vehicles on highways, ensuring regular mobile court drives against workshops of these vehicles, stopping the practice of handcuffing drivers and establishing only bus stops in the town.
