Cop mugged
Muggers snatched valuables from a policeman and a motorbike from a youth in two separate incidents at Malibagh and Kakrail in the city yesterday.
Special Branch Sub-Inspector Akber Hossain said he along with his wife and two children was going to Mouchak from their house at West Rampura by a rickshaw around 6:00am to catch a bus at Gabtoli stand to visit their village home in Naogaon.
A gang of three snatchers blocked the rickshaw with a private car near Malibagh rail crossing and snatched the valuables attacking with lethal weapons.
Meanwhile, a gang of snatchers stopped the motorbike of Tanvir Ahmed around 5:30am by a private car at Kakrail while he and his wife were returning home at Banasree after attending a function at Gandaria. The snatchers stabbed him on his right leg with a lethal weapon and snatched away his motorbike.
