Kolkata Train Crash
Unhurt Bangladeshi boy returns home
Indian Border Security Force (BSF) handed over a Bangladeshi boy, who earlier escaped train accident in Kolkata, to Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) through Benapole check post yesterday.
The boy was identified as Boishakhi, 6, son of Zakir Hossain of Chandra Hat Bangakura village in Gouranadi upazila in Barisal.
Though Boishakhi's mother Jhanu Begum and brother Baker Hossain had died in a train accident in Kolkata during last Durga Puja festival, he surprisingly escaped unhurt in the accident.
Someone rescued Boishakhi and sent him to Bangladesh High Commission in Kolkata.
Jhanu Begum met the accident while she and her and two sons were traveling in Kolkata.
Following long contacts made between the two governments, Indian police and BSF handed him over to BGB.
