War Crimes Tribunal
'Moudud should apologise to nation'
Samprodaikota-Jongibad Birodhi Mancha (SJBM), a pro-liberation organisation, yesterday blasted BNP leader Barrister Moudud Ahmed for his recent remark on International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) and said Moudud should withdraw his remarks and seek apology to the nation on behalf of his party.
At a press conference at Liberation War Museum in the city, the representative of the organisation said in a written statement that Moudud's remark was not only a violation of the constitution but also contempt of the court.
On December 3, Moudud at a press conference at the party's Naya Paltan central office demanded that the government immediately stop the proceedings of the war crimes tribunal.
Moudud's remark is a new conspiracy against the nation, said Ajoy Roy, coordinator of the SJBM.
He also said the BNP along with Jamaat-e-Islami had appointed lobbyist in the USA and had been expending huge amount of money to stop the proceedings of the ICT.
The SJBM Co-coordinator Ziauddin Tarek Ali and member secretary Dr Nur Mohammad Talukdar also spoke.
