CU correspondent
Students of Institute of Forestry and Environmental Sciences of Chittagong University (CU) yesterday urged the government and authorities concerned to give work opportunity to the institute's graduates in Bangladesh Forest Research Institute (BFRI). They voiced the demand in a press conference at CU Journalists' Association in the port city. Among their other demands was reserving BCS Forest Cadre only for the forestry graduates, opening a BCS cadre regarding environmental studies, and creating work and internee opportunity for the institute's graduates in related public sectors and international organisations. Earlier yesterday, the students brought out a silent procession and formed a human-chain on CU campus and submitted a memorandum on the demands to the CU vice-chancellor. Mentionable, applications were called in recently for 23 posts of BFRI under the environment and forest ministry where forestry graduates were not eligible to apply.
