Quality fish output stressed
A workshop on “Improving production and supply of quality fish seed in hatcheries and nurseries” was held at Jessore District Fisheries Office on Sunday.
District Fisheries Office, Arabpur, Jessore, Cereal Systems Initiative for South Asia (CSISA-BD), and WorldFish Center, Jessore jointly organised the workshop with the financial assistance of USAID, says a press release.
Md Ramjan Ali, district fisheries officer, Jessore presided over the workshop while Prof Samsul Alam of Genetics department of Bangladesh Agriculture University, and Ashoke Kumar Sarker, hub manager, WorldFish Center, Jessore presented the key note paper.
About 40 representatives of the hatcheries in Jessore, fish farmers and fisheries officers of DoF and different NGOs took part in the workshop.
WorldFish Center has been working for ensuring food security of the country through improving quality of fish seed production and supply since long.
