300 shanties gutted in Ctg

At least 300 shanties were gutted in a devastating fire at a slum in the port city's Hafeznagar last night. Fire Service and Civil Defence officials of the city said the fire originated from a cattle house around 7:30pm under Bakalia Police Station. Eight units of the firefighters put out it with their joint efforts for two and a half hours at around 10:00pm.
