Section 144 imposed on Dulchari
Dulchari Upazila Adminidtration clamped section 144 in and around meeting venue at Kanschpara Academy High School ground yesterday to avert any clash between freedom fighters and Upazila Awami League.
According to police, Fulchari Union Awami Leaque called a public meeting at the venue at 3:00pm yesterday to protest corruption and irregularities in food for works and cash for works projects.
Protesting the meeting, a group of upazila freedom fighters called a counter meeting at the same time and venue.
To keep the situation under control upazila administration enforced section 144 from 10:00am and deployed additional police force in the area, said Basudev Banik, Gaibandha police super.
